Famloween

We don't dress up any more for Halloween or go out and party.
Trust me, I've done my share of drunken, corsetted, a bikini top counts as a costume Halloweens.
I'm over it.
I'm too old for that shiz.
So this Halloween weekend instead of taking shots while wearing a grass skirt, my dad and stepmonster came to visit.
Yes, Monica, threatening to stuff my dogs in your suitcase all weekend has now earned you the name Stepmonster.
Deal with it.
Here is our Famloween in pictures.
And to all you youngins out there, have a great Halloween.
Don't forget to drink a lot of water.

The first night we ate in and sat out on the patio with a fire and some wine.

The next day we went for a hike and relaxed the rest of the day reading and talking.

And of course outside for more wine and cigars the next night.

The next day, Mike made coffee cake and we carved pumpkins.

What I Wore To Work Today

It's Tuesday so you know what that means.  Blurry pictures of me standing in front of a mirror with captions of where I bought the clothes three years ago.  Happy Tuesday!

The dress is admittedly not super work appropriate, but it's comfy and happy and it's still hot as summer here so I wanted to keep wearing it while I could.  Also, I tend to believe that if you add a belt to anything, it becomes work appropriate.
That's a thing right?

Random Thing I Love About My Husband #1

He lays his clothes out for work the next day every night before he goes to bed.
He stands in the closet and picks out what outfit he wants to wear the next day.
Combing through his multitude of ties, shirt colors, pants.
He hangs them up on our little side hangers in the closet; tie draped over the shirt collar, belt draped over my hung up shirts.

I find this adorable.
It's just so organized.
And shows he cares what he looks like.
And I love watching him pick out his ties.
He loves his ties.
Especially the ones he got for $1.00 at the thrift store.
Those are only his winter ties though.
Yes, his ties have seasons.
See what I mean by adorable?

What I Wore to Work Today

Today, my sister e-mailed me my new favorite quote:
"There is no point in coming to work except to look cute and get paid."

On that note, it's Tuesday so it's time for What I Wore to Work Today.

Yes, I take my photos in mirrors and they're blurry and dark.  I'm not fancy people.

Dress:  Gifted, BR Outlet from like 2 years ago (I'm a sucker for a good peacock print)
Shoes:  Target
Belt:  BR Outlet, notice that I poked a new hole in it myself with some cuticle scissors
Necklace:  Premier jewelry party

What you can't see in these pictures is that the dress was so staticky, that it rode up my ass all day causing me to run around the office constantly bending backwards to tug it out of my bum.
I bring a little bit of class to everything I do.

Goodbye Summer

I'm actually looking forward to winter this year.
Which is weird since I'm from the desert and am just not built for winter.
I get cold when it's in the 60's.
I'm wearing a long sleeved shirt right now for example.

But this year for some reason I can't wait.
Probably because I have so much fun stuff planned.
And because I get a couple weeks off of school.
And because my mom bought me these boots for Christmas that I get to use early in exchange for allowing her to wear a necklace she also bought me for Christmas before she gives it to me.

We're weird, but it works and I can't wait to wear these boots.
And also maybe to lick them.
Maybe just once.
I also just love spending winters in our house.
We light fires in the fireplace.
We decorate for Christmas.
We sit out on the patio and read and drink with the pups.
And I get to wear hoodies.
I love hoodies.
I usually start wearing them a little too early and I get really hot, but I don't care.

Also, my husband starts wearing his flannel pajama bottoms mixed with this ski lodge sweater.
That makes any season a good one.

So goodbye summer.
Goodbye flowy dresses and hello tights and (lickable) boots.
Goodbye air conditioning and hello fireplace.
Goodbye Longsharks with lime and hello hot chocolate.
Goodbye flip flops and hello fuzzy socks.
Can't wait to see you.

Please don't rain on me.

What I Wore to Work Today

My sister and I have started doing this thing where we "kendi" our outfits.  Because yes, once again, I'm obsessed with Kendi Everyday.  So we "kendi" our outfits by e-mailing each other and saying what we're wearing that day and where we bought it from.  We're girls who don't get to shop with each other often so we make up for it by time wasting at work and talking about our outfits.  My lazy bones sister (love you) wasn't at work today so I decided to entertain myself by kendi-ing in the bathroom at work.

That sounds dirty.

It wasn't.

So I created a new regular post on this blog since I need as much distraction as I can.

What I wore to work today!

Dress:  target from about 3 years ago
Belt:  banana republic outlet
Shoes:  nine west outlet
Earrings: premier jewelry party

What'd you wear to work today?

gradschoolspiration

I feel like this blog has become therapy for me.
I get on here and whine one night.
Then get on a couple days later and write something motivational.
So here is my motivational grad school post.
Because it is currently kicking my lazy ass.

 Gradschoolspiration

It always seems impossible until it's done.
