This Week

I haven't blogged much lately because of Thanksgiving, family visiting, my current class is horrible, holiday Christmas craziness is upon me, and well I'm just sleepy.
Here though, is a bit of my week so far.

I now refer to myself as a running ninja because of my all black ensemble and you know...my stealth.

I finally started wrapping Christmas presents.
I know it's not November.
I'm usually mostly done by now.
Working at Hallmark ruined me for life.

We decorated for Christmas.
We took some cute pictures with our new camera.
But it's about a foot away from me and all packed away and I'm tired.
So you get these two.
Balls and Mickey.
About sums up our house.

I put on a pair of my husband's socks last night and around 11:15 on my way to bed decided to slide down the hallway on them at full speed and crash landed flat on my ass against our closed bedroom door.
It was loud.
I laughed.
A lot.
Mike slept through it.
Again I say stealth.

We cooked Julia's creamy crab meat soup and it is delicious.
8 tablespoons of butter later it better be.

I've been distracting myself from my awful class by reading this.

And I'm incredibly sucked in.
I love her.
And her potty mouth.

That's all I got so far this week.
It's windy.
I'm tired and full of butter soup and white wine.
G'night.

Awkward and Awesome

One of my most favorite bloggers Sydney at The Daybook has a recurring post called Awkward and Awesome.
She encourages all her readers to post theirs too.
So here's mine.
Who wants to bet my awkwards always outnumber my awesomes?

Awkward:
  • the husband presenting me proudly with the running clothes he bought me and realizing they are bright yellow, skintight, see-through pants and a bright blue muffler thing for my head.
  • the next day biffing it on the sidewalk in the bright yellow, skintight, see-through pants in front of husband and skinning my knees.
  • reaching to pat my manager on the arm to comfort him during a bad day and having him walk away while my arm hung in the air awkwardly after him.
  • the dance I did after doing the first item under Awesome.
  • yelling at husband, accusing him of doing something with my registration sticker for him to answer, "I put it on your car."
  • the look husband gave me as I walked around the house carrying a glass of wine and singing "homework juice" loudly.
  • watching the West Wing episode where Zoey gets taken and right at the part where they find the ransom note, husband turns all the lights off in the house.  May or may not have peed a little.
Awesome:
  • being the one to figure out how to fix the lights being out in our living room before the husband did.
  • having a husband that will compliment your butt in your new embarrassing pants, pick you up after you fall face first in them, clean the entire house, and do the laundry all in one day.
  • tamales, left-over Chili's guac, and sour cream.  happy face.
  • re-runs of West Wing while organizing my shoes and jewelry.
That's all for now, my brain is fuzzy from school and homework juice.

What I Wore to Work Today (a couple days late)

I missed Tuesday.
I've been sleepy.
School kicks my ass.
How can one person possibly read this many chapters?
Especially a person as lazy as me?
And when there's tv shows to watch, angry birds to play, blogs to read?!
I have the attention span of an infant, I can admit it.
Anywho, this is what I wore on Tuesday.

Shirt:  JCrew
Skirt:  Gap Outlet, I loved it so much (it has pockets and the waist is stretchy and it was $12!) I bought two in different patterns.  And wore them less then a week apart.  With the same shoes.  I'm weak.
Shoes:  Nine West Outlet
Cardigan:  JCrew
Earrings:  Premier Jewelry Party (per usual)

Vegas in Pictures

We took a trip to Vegas last week with some friends.
It was relaxing and fun and nerdy and boozy and a perfect old person Vegas vacation.
Here are some pics.

At the aquarium thingy in Cesar's

It's impossible to get Arlen to make a normal face.

This is how Arlen takes pics of us.  You can tell who he likes the best.

Mike found the mother load at Yardhouse.

Weirdos.

Arlen's first time at Yardhouse.

I look bored, but I'm really enjoying my Grow A Pair drink

That's a lotta beer lady.

We were on our way to the car when we found this patio...so we had to order drinks.

Me and some booze.

Pimm's!

Boobs.

Those are some manly men.

Can you spot the nerds?

They really do love each other.

Hash House A Go Go eggs benedict w/ red pepper hollandaise.  YUM.

Grapefruit Mimosa

Best photo bomb ever.

It's a requirement if you visit us, we make you sit on our patio with wine and fire.

Ceremony Details

The first time we saw our ceremony site we knew we'd barely need any decorations.
Just a few party poms, the girl's bright yellow dresses, and our bouquets was all it took.
It turned out simple, pretty, and a little modern.
Just like me right?

The ceremony location, cobblestone patio surrounded by flowers and trees.  Love.

My bouquet. This picture doesn't nearly do it justice.

The Ceremony

After getting ready, taking 1,000 pictures, getting stressed out by taking pictures, seeing Mike for the first time, watching my parents be awesome seeing each other for the first time in years, and seeing a friend wearing a beer backpack, it was time to relax.
We had a little break of time in between picture taking and our ceremony which turned out to be a God-send.
We drank some champagne, danced, and kicked off our shoes.
After this, I felt the most relaxed I had all day and was ready to get married!
Our ceremony was officiated by one of our best friends, John.
He's someone I love like a brother, whose approval I constantly seek, and who I look at as an example of a man and husband.
He didn't tell us a word of what would be said at our ceremony.
All we knew was that he gave us a survey beforehand asking questions such as our favorite memories and nicknames for each other.
And from that and his experience and thoughts came a beautiful ceremony.
I posted it on here before and I still read it over and over.
I still can't believe I cried.
I'm no crier.
But he got me.
I could go on all day about our ceremony, it was the best part of the day and while I barely remember our reception, our ceremony is definitely an ingrained memory.
Instead of rambling, I'll just list some of my favorite moments from our ceremony:

The sweet look on my dad's face in all the pictures.
Getting to the end of the aisle and picking a bug off John's face in front of everyone.
Mike taking my hand when I started to cry; one of the top 5 most romantic moments in my life.
John whispering a line to us that no one else could hear.
John officiating using his iPad, I hadn't seen that done before and it was so him.
John mentioning my sister in the ceremony because he knows how important she is in my life.
Not being able to get Mike's ring on because his knuckle is so huge.
Walking back down the aisle to Bruno Mars and hearing my cousin Jason yell, "It's Bruno Mars!"
The end of the aisle dip and kiss.
Us walking away and not knowing where we were going and having to turn around in front of everyone.

What a happy moment in my life, what a lucky girl I am.

Dancing the stress away.

My dad & I right before the ceremony
The boys on their way up the aisle led by John.
