House Tour Continued

Recently, I did a post starting a little tour of our house.
Now that we're moving away, renting out the house, and getting rid of most of our things, I wanted to do the tour even more.
And yesterday when I woke up, Mike had painted over the bright red angry wall in our living room so I figured I might as well continue the tour into that room.
It's probably the most boring room in the house.
And the one we spend the most time in.

That wall used to be bright ass angry red.  Until yesterday morning.  Now it looks really weird to me.

Who in God's name paints a brick fireplace with black lacquer? The turds we bought this house from, that's who.

We've already sold these couches and it makes me so sad.

That ugly lamp in the corner is Mike's dude corner.  He needed light to read and something to put his beers on.  It will not be making the trip to Maryland.

My favorite thing in the living room: a framed wedding announcement.

My usual view.

High Five For Friday!

It's finally Friday!
This week had dragged by, but it's been amazing.
Mostly because I'M DONE WITH SCHOOL!
You would think I'd do a whole blog post on this based on the amount of blog posts I've dedicated to whining about it.
But, I've lost the energy to type the words grad school that many times.
So here (on top of that) are the 5 best things about this week.

(1)  Random, pointless, new owl vases and finding out that my favorite coworker bought the same one on the same day. (I got mine at Kirkland's, you can get a way more expensive version here.)

(2)  Rare lunch dates with this guy. (His hair looked amazing that day)

(3)  The big haircut.  I still can't believe I did that.

(4)  Sleeping in late and cuddling with this guy.

(5) Did I mention that I'm done with school?!  Cue crazy face!!

My Sister Is Going To Kill Me

Dear Laura,
You know I love you.
And I generally take your advice.
But earlier tonight, this happened:

And this:

And (a sassier faced) this:

The scene of the crime:

Sorry Laura, do you still love me?

Blue on Blue

So I know I just said in this post that I was going to do less fashion posts.
And I meant it.
Because really...who gives a poo what I wear every day?
Added to that, I'm about to have to pack the majority of my clothes into boxes that my husband is going to drive hundreds and hundreds of miles away from me.
So, instead I'll do one outfit post a week.
And the rest of the week you can just assume I wore leggings and no bra.
Or you know, a normal outfit that I may have just worn before.
Or nothing.
Imagine whatever you want!
(This blog post went somewhere weird)

Taking a picture from above your head is super sneakily slimming.  I like it.

I look incredibly dumpy and giant headed in this picture.  Focus on the cute outfit guys...

She looks surprised that her forehead is so large.

Since none of my normal belts fit around my giant hips, I used the belt from this dress.

Distraction From My Distraction

I haven't felt like blogging lately.
I've been busy and stressed and sometimes I do get sick of the whole "follow me and I'll follow you" competitive, weird copy cat blog BS that's all over the internet.
Also, I've been watching a lot of tv and doing a lot of sitting on my butt.
But I will be back.
With less silly outfit posts and more silly lifestyle posts.
Until then, here is a picture of my husband taking a shower.
Enjoy.

High Five For A Couple of Weeks

I haven't done a High Five For Friday post in a while because...well...I haven't been in a great mood.
I've been stressed.
And fussy.
And had a cold.
And blah blah blah.
But I'm back bitches!
So here are the top five things from the last couple of whiny weeks.

(1)  Mike and I deciding that in spite of the complications, the opinions of others, and the fears, that we're going to go for it and do the big move.  I e-mailed him this picture after our decision with the subject line, "Shall we?"
(2)  This was Mike's view at dinner one night during his recent trip to Maryland.  Can't wait to join him there!
(3)  As much as I hated Mike being away, having a couple of girly nights was pretty nice.
(4)  The countdown to school being officially over...forever...and ever!
(5)  Nerdy, fun, boozy friend nights.  The best.

Want It Wednesday

I love online dreaming/shopping as much as the next girl.
But sometimes my Want It Wednesday posts make me feel really superficial and selfish.
So this week, I'm doing a Have It Wednesday post.
Here are the best things I have in my life right now.
Enjoy the junior high-esque collages.

What do you have this Wednesday that you're thankful for?

Me, Myself, & I Link Up

I haven't felt super inspired to blog lately.
Not much has been going on.
Other than stressing about school and moving.
Which does not make for great blog posts.
Or attractive pictures.
So instead I'm going to join in on the Me, Myself, & I Link Up from My Beautiful, Crazy Life.
Here goes!

1)  When you're feeling down, what do you do to pick yourself up?
Lately, it's been Sex and the City Marathons.  I've been down because of stress and too much on my mind.  So I turn on that silly little show that every girl loves (and my husband just doesn't understand) and turn off my brain.  Puts me right with the world again.

{via}

2)  If you had to live in a different time period, which would you prefer?
My first instinct is to say the 50's because I would look really good in those clothes, I like not working, and (like everyone else on the planet) I'm a little obsessed with Mad Men.  Those are horrible reasons to pick a time period, but it's really all about the clothes isn't it?

3)  What is the most creative Halloween costume you've ever worn?
I usually come up with my costumes last minute because I'm cheap and really, a girl can just wear a bikini and call herself a hula girl.  Easy peasy.  But I'll go with this one.  It was worn to work so I couldn't be crazy or anything and it a nod to my favorite show at the time, The Office.

(this photo is really making me want to cut my hair again...)

4)  Five weird things we wouldn't know about you without being told?
1 - My knuckles aren't attached so they click back and forth and it's really creepy to feel.
2 - I can bend my wrist so far forward that my hand touches my forearm...also creepy.
3 - I can do the Little Mermaid singing voice spot on.
4 - I'm scared of going over bridges.
5 - I like to eat lemons just raw with salt on them.

5)  What would you tell your 16 year old self?
Stop being pouty, go for a run, and go flirt with some boys dammit!

The Good Mood Dress

Today, I was actually in a good mood.
That hasn't happened in weeks.
Literally.
I think it's partly the fact that I have given up stressing over my paper.
(Due in large part to the fact that my teacher gave us feedback last night and he blatantly hadn't read our paper nor did he know what the proper format for the type of paper we're doing is so yeah, we give up)
It's also partly the fact that our big news is out of the bag so that pressure is over.
And it's partly this pretty little dress that I got on sale the other day that makes me feel super skinny and springy and happy.
Remind me of this feeling later this week when I'm finishing the paper and am bitching about it okay?

St. Mary's County, MD

Ever since we found out we were moving to PAX River, I have been obsessed (like I always do) with researching the area
This Visit St. Mary's County Web Site has become my crack
And the more I look at it, the more excited I become to move there

Let's get a couple of things out of the way first
Yes, we are moving from a super tiny town to another super tiny town
BUT these super tiny towns actually have crap to do in them
Tons actually
And are about an hour away from one of our favorite cities in the world
And about two hours away from my dad who I haven't lived near in over 12 years
And also...water and trees!

So here are some pictures I've looked at 8 million times in my crack habit with St. Mary's County

Bushwood Cove

Piney Point

Tractor Parade (how cute is that?!)

Amish Quilt Auction (I thought this might lure the mo-in-law to come visit)

St Mary's County Crab Festival (YUM)

Potomac Jazz & Seafood Festival

River Concert Series

Scotterly Wine Fest

Piney Point Lighthouse

Scotterly Plantation

St. Mary's River State Park

Three Notch Trail

Leonardtown Wharf

Charlotte Hall Amish Market

And a hundred million more I won't bore you with
You guys ready to come visit us yet?
