Style Files - Stylish at a Work Conference

Today's style files is one of my favorite recent clients, Erin. Erin needed looks for an upcoming work conference. For her though, I couldn't just do some boring, classic work wear because Erin is awesome and loves to take chances with her style.

I tried to make her outfit planning as easy as possible by basing every look on either the perfect pair of black slacks or the perfect black pencil skirt. Once we had our bases down, we could spend our time creatively pairing tops and accessories for multiple cute and still work appropriate looks.

Style Files - A Dress for a Busy Mom at a Wedding

Remember when I wrote about how much I love doing styling service for people here? I've been helping people out online as much as I can. No seriously, I stalk my friends on Pinterest and find pieces they pin so they can buy them without them asking me to. I'm creepy. Hashtag unemployed.

So I figured I'd post some of the requests and finds I've done for people as a weekly, monthly, who knows how often Style Files post.  Here's my first one!

Client D asked me to find her a dress to wear to a friend's wedding later this year in northern California. She isn't in the wedding, but her young son is. She'll need to be able to move around, bend down, basically wrangle her son the whole day so it couldn't be too short or tight. Her budget was $125.  Here are some of my favorite finds for D's request.

When it came to shoes, D is already pretty dang tall and she didn't want to tower over everyone in addition to the fact that she'll probably be chasing her little one around all day, so low heels were a must. This was actually harder than I thought! Here are some of my favorite finds for her shoes:

Style Files - Airplane Attire

I'm getting ready to go on a big trip with my husband and some friends to New Orleans later this week (wahoo!!). I'm having the hardest time figuring out what to wear since it's still freezing here and it's going to be warm there, but probably rainy.

The airplane trip is probably the hardest part since when we leave it will be cold and when we arrive it won't.

My solution is layers, and comfy ones at that. You can't really get more comfortable than slip on shoes, a slouchy tee, and cashmere. Below, I created an outfit that would be perfect for the ride inspired by my new shop obsession Repeat Cashmere who I first stumbled upon on instagram.
