Happy Skirt

It has been a rough couple of weeks my friends.
Not great.
But this skirt.
This skirt makes me happy.
And I had a (mostly) super happy day wearing it.
Yay skirt!

A Good Sign

Monday night while Mike was at his soccer game and I was sitting on the computer working on my paper, (but really reading old Nat the Fat Rat posts), the dogs would NOT stop barking.
They usually do this when their dad is gone and they're home alone with boring old mom, but that night, it was even worse.
So I eventually got off my lazy bum and walked out into the living room to see what all the fuss was about.
And of course, it was about nothing.
Hooligans.
But as I looked outside with them, I noticed it looked weird out there.
Orangey.
So I grabbed the camera and walked outside with them.
And when I turned the corner, I saw this.

This has to be a good sign of things to come right?
(The sky is also super smokey which probably means something is also on fire, but I'm focusing on the positive okay?)

Flashback Tuesday

This is today's Flashback Tuesday photo:

This was right after we bought our house a couple of years ago
And we were off for our first day of painting/cleaning/all manner of renovations
And look how excited we were

I'm feeling very sentimental for the house lately
And I just love these memories so much
And those damn yellow walls

Head on over to Whyyyjen's for more Flashback Tuesday posts!
(After I wrote this I realized it doesn't look like Whyyyjen is doing Flashback Tuesdays anymore, but check her out anyways!)

Nautical Bing

Could this outfit BE any more nautical?
Said in my best Chandler Bing impression.

On Being Lazy

Lately, I have been pretty lazy.

Grad school is winding down.

I've been sick.

And sleepy.

And stressed out beyond belief.

So I find myself on random days laying on the couch watching Sex And The City marathons.

And sometimes I feel super guilty about it.

I have a freakin paper to write in order to actually GRADUATE.

And yet

Sometimes, I don't feel so guilty about it.

I kind of feel like I need it.

So what I didn't work my ass off on that paper today?

I had a much needed lunch with an amazing girl.

I calmed down my ever nagging panic attacks.

I got rid (somewhat) of my chest cough.

And I was just effing lazy.

Tomorrow, I plan to spend literally the entire day in front of my computer working on my paper.

And it's okay I didn't do that today.

So yeah, sometimes I'm pretty lazy.

But at least I'm guilt free about it.

You know, at the moment.

House Tour

I was home sick a couple days this week
It sucked
By day two I got sick of sitting on my butt watching Sex And The City...which honestly I didn't know that was possible to get sick of
But I did
So I decided to grab the camera and scoot around the house taking pictures of my pug (the best subject ever) and to start a little house tour
I love seeing other people's houses
In magazines, in blogs, and best of all, through lit windows on a dark night
I live for that
So, in case you care, here is the first of probably a series of a tour of my silly little house

But first, the pug

Ugh, he's so cute

Okay, now to the house
This is our covered patio/sitting room/bar
When we bought the house, this whole room was bright yellow and had an ugly fake wood trim

You would not believe the amount of pug/corgi art in our home...we're freaks

And no, I didn't move the dog bed out because this is really what the room looks like (we have a dog bed in almost every room...did I mention that we're freaks?)

More on that horrendous DIY can be seen here

Our bar is a dresser that we stole from my mom and removed one of the doors

My mom bought this print when wine tasting during our wedding weekend, love it

We collect wine stoppers and the bro-in-law made us this to hold them in

So that's our sitting room
Did you guys fall asleep yet?

Get Over It

I was planning to sit down and write a blog post warning everyone about my mood
I'm so cranky and stressed out and awful right now
(Just ask my poor final grad school project partner)
I didn't even do a High Five For Friday post yesterday because I couldn't think of five good things about this week
Then I realized that I had an awesome time with great friends last night
And I'm about to go to lunch with one of my oldest friends in the world
AND it's a three day weekend which never happens for me
So maybe I should just get the hell over it

Here is a picture of my pug to lift (my) everyone's spirits

Go have a good Saturday and don't be a whiny turd like me!
