On Fear

I realized last night when I was laying in bed too stressed out over a decision I have to make to sleep, that I make a lot of my life decisions based on fear.
I never embraced life/school in San Luis because I was scared of getting out of my sheltered bubble and trying anything new.
I dropped out of college 3 classes to graduation when I had already been accepted to grad school because I was afraid of making a decision about my future.
I quit being a flight attendant and moved home because I was afraid to grow up and make a responsible life there.
I almost purposefully ruined by relationship because I was scared of getting married.
I quit jobs, gave up on opportunities, walked away from people, made wrong decisions out of fear countless times in my life.
Basically, I'm a big ole' chicken.
And now I have this great job opportunity and I have almost turned it down a million times out of fear.
Fear of the unknown.
Fear of  failing.
Fear of travelling to the city by myself.
Fear of giving up on the easy dream of staying in this small town, buying a big house, and having kids.
Fear of not making enough money.
Just big ole' chickeny fear.
But I'm trying to squash it.
I'm going back Monday to fill out the paperwork to start the job.
And we'll see if I duck and run at that moment from fear.
But hopefully not.

My Day In Photos

First, I woke up.  Lookin' sexy as always.

Then I walked the pups.

Then I fed the pups.

Then I sexily drank some coffee.

Then I ate a super healthy breakfast of leftover scones.

While I watched Project Runway.

Then I did my quick morning workout routine.

This is me doing a super legit jumping jack.

Then I showered.
(Yeah, I probably shouldn't have posted this picture on the internet.)

Then I prepped dinner (chicken tiki marsala...yummm)

Then I cleaned the kitchen.

Then I cleaned the rest of the house.

After a while, I got Mike's lunch ready.

And had lunch with this guy.

After he left, I got on the internet and did some research for my job interview.

And realized I had all the ingredients for a tasty appetizer.

And walked these guys again.

Then I made some Earl Gray because I was getting sleepy.

Then I tried on outfits for my interview (going with the leopard one).

Then we went grocery shopping (this is my grocery list spreadsheet...I love it)

Then we had dinner (spaghetti and salad)

This guy thought I was being weird.

Then wine, How I Met Your Mother, and bed!

(Admittedly this is two days merged into one because I forgot to keep taking pictures the first day.  That's why the dinner I prepped doesn't match what we ate.  I can't lie to you guys.  Or can I?

Good Eats

Here are some delish recipes we've tried lately.

Baked Shells with Tomato and Mozzarella from Big Girls Small Kitchen

This isn't anything groundbreaking, but we had some leftover ragu and who doesn't love anything with fresh basil in it?

Chicken Tikka Masala from A Hint of Honey

This was SO good.
And hot.
Makes your nose run hot.

Pork Meatball Banh Mi from A Hint of Honey

I don't know if I can properly explain how amazingly delicious these are.
SO SO SO good.
However, I don't know on what planet one pound of ground pork makes 24 meatballs.  I would suggest doubling the meatball ingredients, but nothing else because it makes a crapload of the pickled veggies.
So good!

Happy Sunday

Hello All!
I've done about five hundred Pinspiration posts today because I'm a little obsessed with the idea and it allows me to sit in front of the computer and watch Bachelor all day in my pjs.
This weekend has been lovely so far with a quick trip to Annapolis for tea, errands, dog park, movies, smooches, and did I mention pjs?
The Getting Good At Stuff - Working Out has been going well; we've done the treadmill routine three times so far and it kicks our butt every time.
I didn't complain about going to the gym once this week and that's a big deal for me (I'm a whiner).
I haven't showered yet today.
I freaked out at the dog park because some idiot left both gates open and Gizmo got out.
Even though we caught him, I've been freaking out inside ever since picturing what could have happened.
Which in turn makes me want a cocktail.
But I'm going to wait until five four.
This is a pointless post, but I figured I should post something that wasn't Pinspiration.
And I like to ramble.
So happy Sunday lovies!
(Cheers!)

Job Interview Outfit

I have a job interview next Thursday (URP) and I'm already stressing about what to wear.
If my pinterest closet was accessible (oh if a girl can dream!) this is what I would be wearing.
Check out the original collection on Beso here (seriously Beso, make your collections blogable already!)
The inspiration came from this outfit on Pinterest:

statement necklace + all black.

Since this job is somewhat in the fashion industry, I figure I could be a little different rather than just wearing a suit.
Here is my dream collection:

Getting Good At Stuff - Working Out

The first thing I decided to get good at (or TRY to get good at) is working out.
I have never liked to work out.
I'm pretty awkward and lazy and short.
But since we moved to Maryland, I've become Mike's gym buddy and while I bitch and complain every second until we get to the gym, once we're there I've realized I kind of like it.
But regardles of our new workout routine, I've still put on five pounds since the move.
I could blame winter.
Or unemployment.
Or whatever.
But really, I have no excuse.
So I decided to try to get good at working out.

My first step was to pick a quick and easy routine I could do every day before I hop in the shower.
I'm home alone anyways so I don't need to worry about embarassing myself and it's an extra way to burn some calories and build some muscle outside of my workouts with Mike.
I picked this one:

Another quick workout to get your heart pumping.

My burpees are embarrassing and my superman is awkward as hell, but I sucked way less at this than I thought I would.
It took about 20 minutes, it got my heart pumping, and it made me excited for when it wouldn't hurt like hell anymore.

In order to get good at working out, I also needed to find a way to get back into running.
Since we moved here, it's been so windy and cold outside, our runs have really suffered and I HATE running on the treadmill.
So to combat the boredom, but still get some good cardio in, yesterday I started us doing this on the treadmill at the gym before we moved on to weights:

I knocked the speeds down by one for myself because I'm slow and 8.0 might have killed me.
I think I'll up it back up though and just see how I do because doing 3.0 was kind of boring for 5 minutes straight.
This was awesome and made the time fly by.
I was worried Mike would be bored with it since he's in such better shape then me, but afterwards he was drenched in sweat and said he burnt about 400 calories (I forgot to check my calories dang it).

I'm going to focus on doing these two new additions along with my daily weight lifting until I'm good at them and can up the intensity and weight.

For extra motivation  I put up my daily routine on the mirror at home and, well, talking about it on here is pretty motivating!
