Unemployed No More

Let me say this now before I am completely stressed out, sleep deprived from my first concert season, and missing spending tons of time with my husband....I am so extremely excited about my new job.  I was unemployed for almost seven months when I got this job offer.  I was officially beginning to give up hope.  I had given myself nine months before I started applying for crap jobs and that deadline was quickly approaching.

Not only that, but I WANTED this job.  It wasn't just a job, a paycheck, a way out of unemployment...it was a job I actually really wanted and thought I could be happy in.  After my first interview, I thought I didn't have a chance.  I knew they liked me like they always do, but I didn't have enough experience.  I felt defeated.  I sat down that night and applied for some crap jobs giving up more and more hope. This was one of the last cool, good jobs in my tiny little area.

And then I got a second interview and then later that day I found out I got the job.  And today I had a meeting with them.  And it keeps getting better and better.  I am literally so excited that I got this job and so so thankful.  And not to sound like a turd, but I'm pretty darn proud of myself for going out for the jobs I wanted rather than just a j.o.b. regardless of my experience level.  I promised myself that I wouldn't ever be a receptionist again and I'm so glad I get to actually keep that promise!  Go me.  And go you guys too...you don't have to hear me whine about being unemployed anymore!

    1. Yesss thank God! Now I just need to get the self control to not eat lunch at The Lotus Kitchen every day so I don't become a big fat ass.

    1. Thank you! Don't freak out, enjoy being lazy, intern/blog/write while you're looking for jobs to keep you busy and add to your resume. And most importantly, don't give up hope. You can do it!
