Here is another poorly shot/composed outfit post

I wrote about these shorts first here

And then I returned them and got a size larger in black

Because I wanted room for food

My priorities are pretty clear

Food over fashion

Duh

Thank G for the giant poofy Carrie bun.  Who wants to do their hair after a day of walking (drinking) around Vegas in the heat?!

Why yes, this is the same picture as the last Vegas outfit.  I wore the same shoes both days in a row.  Ouch.

Want It Wednesday

This want it Wednesday, I want courage
Yes, this just turned into the Wizard of Oz
Mike and I just signed up for what will be our first half marathon
And gave ourselves 7 weeks to train for it
The cliché "val" part of my brain wants to immediately shut down, not go to the gym, and hide on the day of the race
So this Wednesday I want the courageous, less crazy part of my brain to prevail and to get off its ass and go for a run

Have any of you guys ever run a half?  Any advice?

Flashback Tuesday

My husband is sick with a cold right now

I'm watching a Sex In The City marathon on the computer while writing a bunch of blog posts, online shopping, and avoiding his open mouth sleeping germs

The Day Before The Sick Day

I wore this outfit yesterday

I felt super cute

I could wear this chambray shirt with everything

And I intend to

Then, later that day, I started to feel that thing in your throat

You know, that scratchy siren telling you an illness is about to hit?

Well, it did.

So today, I'm home sick and miserable and NOT wearing chambray

But oh yesterday, that was a good day

Alright, the filter I used on these pics may have overdone it.  These are orange shorts.  They don't, in person, burn your retinas like this.

But, I was not about to lug my fancy camera onto the strip so Mike could take outfit photos of me in front of drunk people

Let me just tell you, maxi skirt in Vegas...not the best idea.  There are a lot of effing escalators that you have to hitch up your skirt to get on!

On Work

There have been days that I've hated working for small, family-owned businesses
This is the fourth one I've worked for since I was a teenager 
I could go on for days with petty complaints
But some days really make me appreciate what we have
For instance, this little interaction from yesterday morning:

My Boss, "I brought muffins.  I get the top of one, you get the bottom.  That way, we both aren't eating a whole muffin."

I don't know why I find that so adorable, but I just do.

Maybe it was cuter since it came right after his wife walked up to my desk, demanded my car keys, then went out to my car and put a big box of beer in my trunk.

Then set my car alarm off.

I just love these weirdos so much.

High Five For Friday

This week flew by.

I'm sleepy.

Here were the 5 best things about it!

(1)  VEGAS.  See here for 8 million more pics.
(2) Getting mentioned on twitter by one of my favorite incredibly inappropriate funny broads.  I fangirled a bit when I saw this pop up on my phone, not gonna lie.
(3) Finding out that our live class was cancelled for the next two weeks!
(4)  Applying for graduation.  Holy hell this whole deal is almost over!
(5) Discovering cow tails.  How did I not know these delicious effing things existed?!

Vegas

Last weekend we went to Vegas

It was exactly what we needed

Food, friends, booze, relaxing

It was perfect

Here are some pics

(And yes, the majority of these are crappy cell phone pics, but I am just not that cool type of blogger that takes her fancy camera with her everywhere for quality pics. I  would rather run around with a cocktail in my hand.)

(Fun fact, if you have an awesome waiter here and he likes you, he will advise you to put your name on a list for when the restaurant turns into a night club at 11:30 so you can be VIP.  Which we did.  Then we walked by it at 11:30 on our way to bed like old people.)

(Fun fact, the bloody marys here will make you cry like a little girl.)

Drinks and weird nachos at Red Square

We spent most of our time walking through the casinos stopping periodically for drinks and gambling.  It's my favorite way to do Vegas:  people watching, slots, walking, and drinking.  Hello:  perfect.

This is us relaxing for a while at Pour 24 in New York New York.

We happened upon our new favorite loungy bar in the Bellagio, the Petrossian Bar.  It was super comfy and nice and quiet and the drinks were amazingly delicious.

We walked a lot.  Our feet hurt.  Quick soak in our whirlpool tub before dinner.

Dinner at Bouchon.  There are seriously no words.  Amaze.

Our nice camera literally didn't leave our room (more room for drinks in your hand that way apparently) so here are some pics from the room...we're boring, I know.

I don't know why I love this picture of Jason so much.  Possibly because it amuses me that my husband was taking black and white portraits of his friend while sitting in the hotel room.  Weirdo.

Flashback Tuesday

I'm back from Vegas

I'm still tired

But in a good way

Also, my feet hurt

The second we got bored, we'd pop out to the park

High Five For Friday!

Right now, as you read this, I'm driving to Las Vegas.

I cannot wait.

Girl needs a cocktail.

Bad.

So other than the gloriousness that is not working today and going to one of my favorite places, here are the 5 best things about this week!

Notice the hubs poses normally and mom and I can't help but be weird.  Story of our lives.

(1)  random presents from the mom including shorts with sailboats on them...SAILBOATS...I'm freakishly excited about them
(2)  hanging out at my mom's while hubs fancifies her bathroom and making them take self-portraits with me
(3)  finding the two most obnoxious patterns available at Kmart (I'm wearing that dress right now - fun fact)
(4)  being home by myself, watching Sex In the City, with a corgi pillow
(5)  going for a run even though I didn't want to and kicking its ass (also my ponytail looked really good)
